You're right that back when it was six teams the #1 and #2 seeds got byes. Now only the #1 seed gets the bye. So this year's seeding would have worked out as Eagles at #1 get a bye. Then SF (#2) plays Seattle (#7). #3 Vikings play #6 Giants, #4 TB get #5 Cowboys. This got the three NFC east teams into the Divisional. I think the same games #3 through #6 would have been played with the old format.

Considering where the NFC East was a couple of years ago, this is truly remarkable.

Those are atrocious odds. If they were really that bad that is almost scam level.

Unless I'm remembering incorrectly. Did it used to be 1 seed and 2 seed get byes? For some reason I thought 1 played 6.

It completely changed the seeding.
There were no byes before this.

The Seahawks were the 7th seed so the expanded playoffs have no bearing on the stat.

This one’s not too bad. Turnovers are usually how you make comebacks happen, so greatest 0-turnover comeback has some meaning.
Not nearly as egregious as something like:
> Luka is the only player under 23 to average 40/8/7/3 for a 5-game span
Where points, assists, rebounds, steals, age, and number of games are all largely unrelated stats, and thus giving you six degrees of freedom to make almost any stat line unique.

So what you're saying is.. Jacksonville was the better team but only fell behind 27 to nothing because they kept turning the ball over? Like, the Chargers were way out of their league?

When a game is that one sided the bookie usually takes an entire 0 off the odds as their commission. For example you would get -10000 on the winning team but only +1000 on the losing team

For the seven seed to matter in this equation they need to beat the two seed on wildcard weekend which is technically possible but would still be rare. I think we will see it like once every five years to a decade. I know any giving Sunday but there’s such a gap between a top four team in the league and a roughly league average team. Then they also need to be in the same division as two other teams that all made it to the next round.
Even with expanded playoffs I think this will continue to be incredibly rare.
