To be honest, he was a huge mistake as a HC irregardless of how terrible Wilson has been

I think Russell Wilson’s NFL career is over soon.

This sucks ‘cause so many fights this past year have been cancelled due to doping, ducking, and now arrest. Like wth man. I love boxing, but some years are just a hit or miss

I didn’t really explain it well in my last post. Basically, when he was with the Seahawks and they were doing well, there were a lot of pieces in place that made it happen. Russ’s flaws (mostly his height) weren’t an issue because defenses had to defend against pass, rush and keeper on every play. Even his best pass plays were outside the pocket where he didn’t have to see over 6’5” lineman. He has been a decent pocket passer, but that’s not what he’s best at.
Fast forward to this season. He’s older, slower, less athletic. He doesn’t have a top tier RB. He can’t scramble like he could 7 or 8 years ago. His receiver core is relatively mediocre. And because of all of this, he’s forced to try to make things happen in the pocket. But because all those things that were a threat from the Seahawks just don’t exist anymore, he’s much easier to defend against. His height is now a problem, and we’re seeing he was always just a decent pocket passer.
Add all of this to the fact that he’s pissing off and embarrassing his teammates saying stupid shit like God is testing them. It’s really no wonder he’s not playing well. The flaws he’s always had are being magnified. And it’s obvious that the Seahawks success with Russ wasn’t a case of “Russ is amazing.” It was more a case of, “Right place, right time. Perfect storm of ability across the entire team, and Russ fit in perfectly there.”

More importantly there needs to be a system shift in North America for how sports are adopted and developed. We have a mind set that in order be elite we need to have kids specialize in sports from young ages, we put them in the same sport year round, we put them in gyms to focus on sports specific workouts and the worst part is if you can’t finically fit the bill you’re left behind barring exceptional natural abilities. Look at the burn out rate for swimmers in the United States, Or hockey players in Canada we have moved into systems where if you can survive sport at a certain level you’ll make it. If we moved to more of a multi sport systems we’d not only develop better overall athletes but we’d also have much less burn out and more people doing sport for life rather than only the competitive aspect.

agreed on your points. there are many stories in the NFL where a QB was able to influence the coaching staff through the administration. as for Wilson, i’ve been shaking my head at this organizations choices for several years.

You can't really fire a player like you can a coach. Broncos would happily dissolve that Wilson contract if they could.

I agree fully and think this is very true of a large number of other areas in life now as well. Cars, housing/rentals, education. So many things are cobbled together so everyone has access now we have to pay so it is safe, complete and everyone can have access.
